BandWorks School of Rock 2013 Summer Camp:  Collaborative Creatvity Happens at Bandworks Summer Camp! For kids 8+, BandWorks Rock n' Roll Camp is open to young beginners through advanced, older teen players. Top professional musician-instructors create a team environment while teaching kids the skills they need to play in a rock band! Patriotic Message: APA History Month Salutes Amy Tan

Amy Tan is an American novelist born in Oakland, California. The daughter of Chinese immigrants, she has taken for her theme the lives of Asian-Americans and the generational and cultural differences among them, concentrating on women's experiences. Tan's novels include several books including The Joy Luck Club. She has also written a children's book and essays.

 

                                                           

1. Cafeteria Lunch Menu: Lunch today is orange chicken and rice or a deli sandwich. Lunch includes salad bar, seasonal fruit and your choice of milk.

 

2. BSU: The BSU will be meeting in 214 today from 2:30-3:30PM. We will be planning our activities for the remainder of the school year. Please be on time. – Ms. Taylor

 

3. Great America: Attention all 8th graders this is a reminder that your Great America Trip money is due by this Friday May 24, 2013 to Ms. Taylor. – Ms. Taylor

 

4. GSA: The Gay Straight Alliance will meet in the patio today at lunch for Harvey Milk day activities. – Ms. Pine, Ms. Boone & Mr. Smothermon

 

5. 8th Grade Promotion Party: Hey 8th graders!  Your 8th grade dance is fast approaching!  Tickets will be for sale during lunch tomorrow on the patio!  Each ticket is $10.00! – Ms. Carter

 

6. PE TRACK AND FIELD MEET: All the results for the PE meet have been posted in the G-wing. Check it out! – Mr. Sorensen

 

7. LOCKER ROOMS: Students, be sure to lock up all your items. Every period, teachers are finding backpacks and clothes left unlocked in the locker rooms.  And see a PE teacher if you do not have a lock. - PE Staff

 

8. Harvey Milk Day: Harvey Milk was the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in the United States.  Before Harvey Milk was elected, he unsuccessfully ran three times for the San Francisco County Board of Supervisors.  Bancroft will be celebrating Harvey Milk Day TODAY! Memorize 10 states or countries that have legalized same-sex marriage and get a rainbow treat at lunch on the patio. Rainbow soda floats will be for after school for $2 on the patio. – Ms. Boone
